Compatibility
Compatibility
Built for Any Table Top - From Solid Wood to Natural Stone
Whether you’re mounting an old wooden slab or heavy quartz, this frame is fully compatible with all surface materials.
When using natural stone or solid surfaces, we recommend pairing the frame with a plywood sub-top and strong silicone adhesive. The sub-top acts as a large flat surface to apply the silicone evenly, distributes heavy loads evenly, and gives you a rock-solid, drill-free installation for your stone.
Let us handle the prep work. We’ll cut the plywood to your exact base dimensions, paint the edges and underside black for a clean, finished look, and pre-screw it directly to your base. When your frame arrives, it's 100% ready for stone placement. To add-to-cart please use the following link: Plywood
Size Guide
Size Guide
Finding the right table base ensures your table is structurally safe, visually balanced, and comfortable to sit at. Follow these simple steps to choose the correct dimensions.
1. Simple 3-Step Sizing Process
- Measure Your Table Top: Note the total length and width in centimeters.
- Calculate Maximum Overhang: Subtract the maximum safe overhang from both sides to find your minimum base size.
- Select Your Base: Choose a frame or leg set that fits within those target dimensions while maintaining overhang safety limits.
2. Maximum Unsupported Overhang Limits
- 20 mm Quartz & Granite: Maximum unsupported overhang of 30 cm per side.
- Solid Wood (20–40 mm): Maximum overhang of 25–40 cm per side (depending on wood species and grain direction).
- Ceramic & Porcelain: Typically requires tighter support (often 10–15 cm max overhang). Always verify specs with your fabricator.
Example Calculation for Xea Table:
If your 20 mm quartz top is 200 cm long × 100 cm wide:
- Length: 200 cm – (2 × 25 cm overhang) = 150 cm base length
- Width: 100 cm – (2 × 25 cm overhang) = 50 cm base width
- Ideal Base Dimensions: ~150 cm long × 50 cm wide
